History in English: 
1946 Built by Smith’s Dock Co. Ltd., Middlesbrough and delivered to Salvesen
in September as whale catcher SOUTHERN SAILOR.
Catching for Whale Factory Ship SOUTHERN VENTURER from the 1946/47 season to 1950/51
1951 In the season of 1951/52, catching for Leith Harbour station.
1952 Returned to the Southern Venturer-expedition.
1960 In her last Antarctic season, 1960/61, catching for Leith Harbour.
1961 Laid up at Melsomvik, Norway for a few weeks before being sold in July
to the Icelandic whaling company Hvalur H/F and renamed HVALUR 6.
1986 After whaling at Iceland for several years she was sunk on 9th.
November together with other vessel Hvalur 7 at Reykjavik after sabotage action by the activist group Sea Shepard
led by the fundamentalist and terrorist John Watson.
Later same year, salvaged and repaired engine.
2010 As one of the worlds oldest steam whalers, she is still ready for action, but needs repairs.
